Coverage
What we do, and what we do not
The brands, platforms, generations and conditions of each operation, then its limits. Every dump goes through the free analysis first: an operation is only offered if it applies to that dump, and the sheet says why the others are set aside.
Operation by operation
Platforms, brands and conditions, as the engine applies them today.
| Operation | Platforms and files | Brands and families | Generations and conditions |
|---|---|---|---|
| Dump analysis | Platforms and filesIntel and AMD, a BIOS region alone, pre-UEFI BIOSes. A .bin or .rom file: one or two chips, plus the EC chip dump, three files at most. | Brands and familiesAll: the brand, model, board and whitebook reseller are read from the dump. Without evidence in the dump, no name is guessed. | Generations and conditionsFree, nothing is modified. An EC, Thunderbolt or graphics card dump is recognised and named, not analysed as a BIOS. |
| Clear the BIOS / EC password | Platforms and filesPassword held by the BIOS or by the embedded controller (EC): the analysis says which. | Brands and familiesDell, HP, ASUS / AMI, Acer / Insyde / Phoenix, Lenovo ThinkPad, and Huawei / Honor. | Generations and conditionsOffered only if the analysis finds something to erase. The password is erased, never read or revealed. Lenovo: the EC chip dump may be requested; ThinkPad: one more step after the first boot. Dell or HP with two chips: both files. |
| Clear ME | Platforms and filesIntel only. | Brands and familiesAny brand on an Intel platform. | Generations and conditionsIntel ME CSME 11 to 20. The ME is restored to its factory state, with the manufacturer's configuration: it is not disabled. An ME that is already blank has nothing to restore; spread over two chips, both files are needed. |
| Disable soldered RAM | Platforms and filesIntel and AMD. | Brands and familiesAny brand: laptops with soldered memory and a SO-DIMM slot. | Generations and conditionsDDR4 and DDR5. All the soldered memory is taken out of service, not a single channel. A SO-DIMM stick must be fitted before programming the chip. |
| Extract from the dump | Platforms and filesIntel, AMD, and a BIOS-only dump. | Brands and familiesAny brand. Ready-to-program EC image: ITE and ENE controllers. | Generations and conditionsThe chip regions and their sub-parts, taken out unchanged; a blank region is not offered. Microchip, Nuvoton or SMSC controllers: their program is in the BIOS chip, no separate EC image. Dump read with swapped bytes: nothing is extracted, re-read the chip. |
| Carry the identity over to the EC | Platforms and filesCompal boards under an Insyde BIOS; EC chip of 64, 128, 256 or 512 KB. | Brands and familiesAcer and Packard Bell on Compal boards (Nitro, Predator…). | Generations and conditionsAfter a board swap: the original BIOS dump (one or two chips) and the new board's EC dump, uploaded together. The file returned is the EC to program; the BIOS is not modified. |
| Rebuild from the manufacturer update | Platforms and filesOne or two chips; a dump reduced to the BIOS region if the update ships the full chip. | Brands and familiesAny brand for which you have the manufacturer's official update for the same board. | Generations and conditionsThe machine's dump is required: the identity comes from it (serial number, UUID, MAC address, Windows key). Refused: the update for another board or model, an image more than six months older than the dump's BIOS. |
| Motherboard replacement | Platforms and filesOne or two chips per board, same sizes on both sides; BIOS versions may differ. | Brands and familiesAny brand whose identity is in the BIOS chip. Acer on Compal boards: with the new board's EC dump. HP business machines: a message to dismiss at first boot. | Generations and conditionsThe old board's dump and the new one's. The new board keeps everything except the identity: the old board's serial number, UUID, chassis number and Windows key. Never two identities on one board. |
| Extract a manufacturer package | Platforms and filesExecutables, archives, disk images and capsules, as manufacturers publish them. Accepted extensions: .exe, .zip, .cab, .iso, .img, .bin, .rom, .cap, .fd, .7z, .tar, .gz, .dmg, .pkg, .wph, .fl1, .fl2, .upd. 512 MB max. | Brands and familiesHP, Dell, Lenovo, ASUS, Acer, MSI, Fujitsu, Panasonic, Toshiba, VAIO, Apple, Portwell; AMI, Insyde, Award and Phoenix formats. | Generations and conditionsNo dump needed. The package is read, never run. RAR archives are not opened: unpack them first. |
What we do not do
Said before you upload, so you do not find out afterwards.
- Reveal a password
- It is erased in the dump, never read or revealed.
- Clear ME on AMD
- These platforms have no Intel ME: the operation is not offered.
- Clear ME on an ME older than those in the table
- The analysis reads its version and does not offer the operation.
- Disable the Intel ME
- Clear ME restores it to its factory state: it stays active.
- Disable only part of the soldered RAM
- All the soldered memory is taken out of service; the machine boots on the SO-DIMM stick.
- A rebuild without the machine's dump
- The identity comes from the dump: without it, no rebuild.
- A rebuild with another board's update
- A package for another board or model is refused, as is an image more than six months older than the dump's BIOS.
- Motherboard replacement on Lenovo ThinkPad and on Acer with Quanta boards
- When their identity lives in the EC chip, in a format the site cannot write: refused as soon as the old board is uploaded.
- Transplant the identity between two different boards
- Different chip sizes or layout: refused. And never two identities on one board.
- A separate EC image for Microchip, Nuvoton or SMSC controllers
- Their program is read from the BIOS chip: no chip is invented.
- Open a RAR archive
- Unpack it, then upload the package.
- Run a manufacturer package
- It is read, never launched.
- Guarantee an internal flash
- Program the chip with a programmer.
- Say that a machine boots
- The analysis recognises a destroyed or badly read chip; a finely erased sector only shows next to a healthy image of the same board.
- Analyse a file other than a chip dump
- Only .bin or .rom files are accepted; an EC, Thunderbolt or graphics card dump is named, not analysed as a BIOS.
What you need
Before you upload.
A programmer
The chip is read and programmed with a programmer, outside the machine. An internal flash is not guaranteed.
The full dump
The whole chip, read entirely, as .bin or .rom. Always keep the original.
Both chips, and the EC chip
Two-chip layout: both files together. The EC chip dump can be added: three files at most.
For a rebuild
On top of the dump, the manufacturer's official update for the same board, as downloaded.
For a motherboard replacement
The old board's dump and the new one's; Acer on Compal boards: also the new board's EC dump.
An account
Sign-up is free. Your files are isolated per account and erased 24 h after upload.
The brands
The ones workshops see most. Each operation has its own: the table says which.

- HP
- Lenovo
- ASUS
- Acer
- Packard Bell
- MSI
- Toshiba
- Samsung
- Fujitsu
- Huawei / Honor
- Clevo / TongFang
